‘New Moon’ director Weitz names next project
“Twilight Saga: New Moon” director Chris Weitz is ready for a different speed, now that filming and finishing the soon-to-be mega-hit is just around the corner.
“I’m rather lazy and I get tired after a while, waking up at six in the morning,” he laughed during roundtable interviews at the San Diego Comic-Con. Instead, he’s decided to take up a “small movie,” after this one’s out.
“It’s called ‘The Gardener’ and it’s about a Mexican gardener,” Weitz said. “And I’m not joking. It sounds like a joke movie, but it’s not.”
Directing the third “Twilight” movie was out of the question, “impossible without serious disjunction” due to scheduling. But he said there will be some noticable stylistic differences between the first film, directed by Catherine Hardwicke, and his “New Moon.”
“I like classical films, I’m kinda an old fogey in that way. Catherine… is very much more contemporary. This will look and feel like an old romance.”

Tinsel Korey Interview
Twilight Lexicon had an interview with Tinsel Korey who plays Emily in New Moon.
Tinsel Korey, who plays Emily in New Moon, was kind enough to give the Lexicon an interview.
Tinsel is what is know in the performing arts world as a triple-threat performer: she sings, dances, and acts. Actually, maybe we should call her a quadruple-threat performer because she’s also a musician. You can hear her performing two very different songs stylistically on her Music MySpace. One is called Into the West and and is very upbeat. The other is called Games of the Heart and it has an almost Norah Jones quality about it.
Tinsel shared with us her experience on the New Moon set and her vision of Emily Young.
Bella And Jacob’s Chemistry At Comic-Con
SAN DIEGO — It isn’t often that, right in the middle of an interview, one of the subjects will suddenly lean over and nearly give the other one a full-on, passionate kiss. But when we caught up with “Twilight” saga stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner recently at Comic-Con, love was in the air.
Interview With Chris Weitz, Ashley Greene and Melissa Rosenberg
Hollywood.com had the chance to interview Chris Weitz, Ashley Greene and Melissa Rosenberg at the Comic Con.
We were lucky enough to chat with New Moon director Chris Weitz, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg and star Ashley Greene during New Moon’s Comic-Con takeover. They had a lot to share about onscreen chemistry, creating the wolves, and Taylor Lautner’s resemblance to a certain Greek god.
Chris, what were the challenges of adapting a Twilight book?
Weitz: In terms of the visuals, just sort of combining a sense of, I mean the last film I did [The Golden Compass] was set in a parallel universe, so we could reinvent the wheel. This one’s not only set in a very specific place, and in some ways a very workaday place, but also a place that had already been established in the previous film. And then to take it to flights of fantasy, the Volturi. Really, to be honest, its hiring someone like David Brisbin who is a genius production designer and Javier Aguirresarobe the D.P. who shot things in such a beautiful way. We were able to take a world that had already been established and put it in a setting that is just incredibly rich, and I think it’s quite beautiful.
Comic-Con: New Moon Panel Transcript
The Examiner has a transcript of the Q&A on the New Moon Panel at Comic Con:
It’s safe to say that whenever Robert Pattinson appears at a public event, screaming female fans will surely follow him. A year after Pattinson and his “Twilight” co-stars Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart participated in a panel discussion at the 2008 edition of Comic-Con International in San Diego, the three stars returned to Comic-Con for a July 23 panel discussion about “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” “Twilight’s” first sequel, which arrives in theaters November 20. Joining Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner this time around were co-star Ashley Greene and “New Moon” director Chris Weitz.
There was still plenty of screaming from many of the approximately 6,000 people in attendance (especially when Pattinson was getting ready to answer a question), but there’s no doubt that the enormous fan anticipation for the “New Moon” film has eclipsed the anticipation for its predecessor. And, of course, compared to last year at this time, Pattinson has become a major heartthrob around the world since the release of the “Twilight” movie, which is the first installment in a film series based on the Stephenie Meyer novels. While “Twilight” told the story of the blossoming romance between high-school student Bella Swan (played by Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (played by Pattinson), “New Moon” follows Edward and Bella’s angst-ridden breakup and the emerging love triangle between Bella, Edward and Bella’s close friend Jacob Black (played by Lautner), who’s secretly a werewolf. Greene reprises her role as Alice Cullen, Edward’s adoptive sister.

Comic-con Sneak Peak Videos
Well here are the videos of the clips shown at the Comic-Con. I’ve watched both of them and all I can say is wow.
I’ve placed the videos below the ‘Read the rest of this entry »’ for the people who dont want to be spoiled.
If your going to watch, enjoy.
Oh and ET will be airing these clips later today. So of course they will be better quality. As soon as they come out I’ll post them on the site. Stay tuned for them.
Articles
Director Chris Weitz has confirmed to HitFix.com that Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Bon Iver will be contributing all-new tracks to the film “Twilight Saga: New Moon.”
“I selfishly want to put songs in by artists I love. And some the cast and crew also happen to love,” says Weitz. “I think [Bon Iver] is fantastic. He says he wrote it for the film, but who ever knows if it might just be something laying around in his cupboard.”
Weitz mentioned that he will be listening to Yorke’s new track tomorrow (July 24) and “unless it’s sounds of him belching, I think I’ll put it in.”
The comments came during the “Twilight” sequel cast and crew interviews at Comic-Con in San Diego, the multi-day fest at the Convention Center.
British rock group Band Of Skulls — who have lately been opening for Spinnerette — will also be included and Weitz still is “hoping to get Kings Of Leon.”
As previously reported, Alexandre Desplat will be scoring the film, the sounds of which Weitz describes as “lush. That’s how I wanted the cinematography to be.”
